Support Requests / Re: mail() function

Unless things have changed, log into the plesk panel and open a support ticket requesting mail() to be enabled, and that should do the trick.

Support Requests / Re: Script can't write files.

You'll need to chmod the files that your PHP script needs to write to to a high enough level to allow it. If you're not sure what level they need to be set to, your best bet would probably be to come up with a list of files (or a directory) that PHP needs to write to, and send it in via the help desk in plesk.

you can't connect to plesk.lvcs.net or any others plesk*.lvcs.net...

the ftps are either 68.178.194.153 for plesk or 68.178.206.47  for plesk3

You can DEFINITELY connect to plesk*.lvcs.net because I'm doing it right now...

QuoteI have enabled secondary Ftp

What do you mean that you've enabled it. You've enabled it in the Options panel on freepgs?

You need to be setting up your FTP stuff in the plesk control panel (plesk.lvcs.net - or plesk3 or plesk4)

Use the help desk in plesk to request mail() to be activated for your account

Did you upload the index.html file to the "httpdocs" folder?

You'll need to set the FTP Server to plsk.lvcs.net or plsk3.lvcs.net depending on which server you're on. Then your same username and password should work. You'll get a directory listing that includes httpdocs, you'll just double click to open that up and upload your files inside of that directory.

You should only make one request. The requests are processed manually, so it could take up to 24 hours for your account to be created.

OK, based on that log it looks like the plesk ftp server is having trouble with Passive mode for you. I'm not exactly sure where the setting is for either of those programs, but it's usually under a connection details tab. You'll need to uncheck Passive (might be spelled PASV). Based on what I've seen, that -should- clear up your uploading problems.

I'm not sure if it will work on the plesk server, but you could try putting this in an htaccess file in the directory you want a list to show in:

Options +Indexes

Failing that, I'd try the help desk in plesk.

OK, I'm getting a slightly happier message for your domain now:

"If you see this page, it means that you have set up your web server for serving a new site, but have not uploaded the site content yet."

What that means is that everything is set up, there's just no files in the right places. You'll need to put files in the appropriate httpdocs directory, and name the home page file index.htm (or html, or php, etc.). Are you still having issues uploading with dreamweaver?

Are you referring to my "southerncrosscruiserclub.com" domain?
Yes, I am

So I have to create a physical host in the Plesk console?
You'll need to add it in just like you did the sccc.freepgs.com domain (except you'll probably want to keep www checked)

(i.e., in addition to the sccc.freepgs.com domain)...
You don't, but I gather that you have already added that domain in. If you don't want it you should go ahead and delete it out of plesk.

Good luck :)

If you want southerncrosscruiserclub.com to point at the plesk files you'll need to add it to the domains, NOT sccc.freepgs.com. If you are just redirecting from southercrosscruiserclub.com (which is what I gather you were doing), then you should just set up the freepgs.com domain name and keep redirecting the southercrosscruiserclub.com domain as you were before. From your other post I gather that you've changed the nameservers now though, so if you did that you'll need to add it to your plesk account.

If that is too confusing (it may be, sometimes I don't know how coherent my answers are), then your best bet would be to just use the help desk within plesk to ask for assistance, and one of the admins will get your troubles straightened out.

Support Requests / Re: What is my Plesk URL?

From the Plesk and Migration FAQ's (located here: http://forum.freepgs.com/index.php?topic=1793.0)
If you are using a domain name that ends with "freepgs.com", that domain will not point to the Plesk server automatically. To have these domains pointed, please create a ticket via the "Help Desk" link, and we will make the necessary DNS changes. You can also add the domain as username.plesk.freepgs.com if you wish to have a domain that will work immediately.
(for your freepgs.com url)

For your other domain, you'll need to add it specifically to plesk also (i.e., in addition to the sccc.freepgs.com domain), because it is different.

That is correct.
