Support Requests / Re: Plesk domains
January 09, 2008, 11:12:44 PM
I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're asking, but I'll try:

If you have a domain, there's no need to fiddle with any of the username.freepgs.com stuff, just point your nameservers at plsk1.lvcs.net and plsk2.lvcs.net.

All the domains should be added through Plesk.

Indeed, I haven't had any noticeable slowdowns for my databases...

Are you sure? They might be in your "bulk mail" folder. In any case, it's not important now.

This will eventually get a response, but response times from the site admins are usually faster if you use the contact form on the main site. (system.freepgs.com that is)

You could also set PHP to chmod the files to a less restrictive permission setting as you upload files if you wanted. This is hardly a freepgs "permission error"

Somebody on the server could have used up all the space on the drive, that would be bad.

Or is the file that you're trying to upload so large that it would fill up more than the amount of space you have left?

I handle it by avoiding it. Just use underscores instead of spaces maybe?

Well, hopefully they still have it. It definitely isn't listed on the plans page though: http://system.freepgs.com/plans.php

Well, Reply #1 on: March 10, 2006

Are you sure it's still supported at all?

Support Requests / Re: What's with the database?

I'm not on the mysql5 server, but based on the error message you guys are posting it looks like that server keeps on running out of memory. That means it is VERY likely that somebody is just pegging the server with a zillion queries. I'm certainly not an authority on this though. The database server on localhost doesn't seem to be affected by the problem (at least not that I've seen).

Have you changed something? It seems to be working fine for me...

Output Buffering still seems to be working properly for me, how are you turning it on?

You'll need to use the contact form from within your account, then an admin will add it for you. (There's actually a specific place to request that it gets added, but replies to that will show in your previous contacts, so you might want to check there first to be sure that you haven't already received a reply...)

They make it fairly well publicized that they do not do backups of any kind, it is your responsibility to do so. I'd recommend setting up some sort of automated script that would email the database to you, etc.

I think if you request server logs to be activated on your account bandwidth monitoring will come back on for you. Other than that, I don't think freepgs is doing any tracking of bandwidth...
