synic

nvm i think i kno why, thanks anyways

synic

nvm, the last thing i remember was i created some directories fpgs/fpgshttpd/USERNAME/ then decided to delete it, is that the cause of that? or something else like above wat i did before? just wondering...cuz the directories ive made wasnt even on the account when i signed up with the plan, and i was reading about the htaccess stuff, so can anybody help me out?

looie

Well, it should be /fpgs/fpgshttpd/username/"your stuff here"

Did you edit the htaccess file? Do you still have FTP access?

synic

ooooo ok i guess its because of that since now u mentioned, thanks, ill go on right ahead and re-create those directories, its weird because when i bought the 30$ plan, it didnt have those directory when i accessed the ftp, and yes i can still access, ima go try it out right now

synic

i see the .htaccess folder but there's nothing in there

You do not need to create directories within your account in the form /fpgs/fpgshttpd or /fpgs2/users, etc.  That is just the path to your space.

If you have directory indexes turned on and do not have any .htaccess files, the problem is with file permissions.  Be sure file permissions are set to the default 644 and directory permissions are set to the default 755.  Permissions can be managed via any of the file managers or FTP.

Otherwise, if you want us to remove all folders within your account so you can start fresh, please let us know via the Contact Form.

Thank you,

Here's a tutorial for CHMODing (changing file or folder permissions) through FTP:

http://www.phpjunkyard.com/ftp-chmod-tutorial.php

doctoreast

use freepgs file manager to edit htaccess,
because you wont see it otherwise, wont
be visible. watch for caps, as fedora linux
is cap sensitive. i had some of those
forbidden errors, but it was my urls were
wrong.
