What is Plesk?

Sorry to ask such an apparently basic question, but is "Plesk" the name of a machine?

I see "Plesk" is down at the moment, which might explain why http://www.freepgs.com/webspace/premierminerals/ isn't working (Fatal Error 2006 - bY: owz), but another site on FreePgs.Com (http://www.freepgs.com/stivelschurch/) is working okay.  I can connect to both of them okay via ftp.

Is the Premier Minerals site down because of "Plesk"?

Cheers,
Ben.

You have been hacked.  That is why.

I can understand that as far as it goes, but it doesn't go very far!

What's been "hacked" and in what way?  I have four sites and three of them are down.  The files are all there so they haven't been touched.

Are you able to explain what the problem is, and suggest a fix (if there is one)?  Or should we sit back and wait for the sysadmins to sort it out?

Thanks in advance,
Ben.

Ben

Plesk is a differant server completly. If you can access your sites via http://www.freepgs.com/username/ you're not hosted on Plesk.

Recently, someone gained access to files on the server somehow, and seems to have deleted index.php and index.html files, replacing them with the "Fatal Error 2006" message. This isn't just on FreePgs, it's all over the internet. It just seems to be index files, so just reupload from a backup.

Thank you.  I've replaced my index.htm and index.php files and everything is back online.

Did I miss an announcement somewhere?

Cheers,
Ben.

Ben

The Fatal error message hasn't been publically announced, I'll go post it on the main freepgs site now.
