Hi.  I installed a word press plugin called "wpmathpub" and it needs to be able to write to a directory on my web server.  However it always fails saying that it doesn't have the right permissions.

"Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /var/www/vhosts/brandonfogerty.com/httpdocs/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpmathpub/wpmathpub.php on line 85
"

Even when I try to upload images to my web server using wordpress,  it fails because of the same problem.

So I went ahead and set the directories that wordpress is trying to access to chmod 777 for all users.  I only did it temporarily for testing which still resulted in the previous error message. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?  Thanks!

You cannot chmod files unless they are owned by the webserver username.  You will need to chmod these files via FTP or the Plesk panel, or use the "Help Desk" link to request us to modify the file ownership or permissions so your script will work.

Thank you,
