Support Requests / Re: BerkelyDB Gone???
October 16, 2010, 01:11:24 AM
i was thinking... would it be possible for me to backup my db, load it on a mysql server that supports bdb, convert the tables, back the new db up, and restore to my plesk5 account's db?

well i can change them to MyISAM or InnoDB, however, phpMyAdmin is not allowing me to change them stating

QuoteALTER TABLE `sln_awards`  ENGINE =  MYISAM

MySQL said: Documentation

Support Requests / BerkelyDB Gone???
October 12, 2010, 09:52:23 PM
My db driven site will no longer load because of the following error

Query failed: Unknown table engine 'BerkeleyDB_0'

most of my tables use BerkeleyDB... am i going to have to change them all over to MyISAM or will BDB come back?

Support Requests / Name server issue
December 22, 2009, 12:39:24 AM
this has nothing to do with the hosting, but maybe someone here could provide some insight on this.

When i migrated to plesk5, i switched all of my domains over to the new IP addy on my Nameservers (xname.org and zoneedit.com) ... on one of my domains, i accidently missed updating the IP on xname, but did on zoneedit... a couple days ago i corrected this on xname.

Today my ISP now has the old IP cached for half the subdomains (including www) and the correct IP for the other half (inlcuding the domain itself)

It was to my understanding that DNS updates occurred instantly and that it takes up to 1 hour for the ISP to update its caches

so why am i still getting the old IP 2 days later

any suggestions?

i failed to switch over an IP on one of my DNSes and noticed the hacked server message... well my blackberry does... my local ISP has the new IP cached

Oh well... its fixed for me

i was doing some research and noticed that the same hacker attacked godaddy /securepaynet.net Microsoft servers in 2006...

that sucks they were able to get in to a linux box... these things should just stay in MS's world

since i use my own Name servers, i need to point them now to 70.38.38.55 ... correct?

If you can access your files via FTP, it would be a good idea to make sure you have a local copy.

The system was compromised, the root password was changed, so we do not have access to any of the databases (among other things).

We can manually create the accounts on the new server and you can upload the files.

We are waiting on the provider to see if they can attach a console and reset the root password in single user mode for us.  Either way, we will need to wipe this system as it is hard to tell what "they" are doing with the system.
yeah the FTP server is still up and running...

i keep my files backed up, i save locally and then upload to ftp... so im not worried about file loss....

DB loss will be a pain in my ass, but recoverable.

since i cant open a support request at this point, what do i need to do to migrate?

what does this mean???

i can only access FTP... what can we do if we havent yet been able to migrate?
