Support Requests / Re: plesk down
August 14, 2008, 04:15:31 AM
Yeah, some kind of server configuration error or something.

All files on HTTP are returning 404 -- Files can still be accessed via FTP..

Plesk is down, HTTP is up (minus not displaying any files) and FTP is up.

Seems to be a local problem, affecting all three Plesk Servers.

Please make sure you're trying to upload to /httpdocs/ and not just your root directory.

Make sure all your popup blockers are disabled, or that is added to the allow list.

DB webadmins will open in a popup.

You should be able to override the Plesk icon with a favicon tag in your page, and make sure your file is favicon.ico

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

You will need to set the MX records on the domain to point to that server in order for it to work properly. You will have to ask your other host how to change that on their server.

These problems are due to migrating FreePgs users over to Plesk.
The Plesk server was less restricted, and is currently less secure as well. Users are causing problems with scripts they are adding.

The problems are being worked on, and a second Plesk server should be coming online in the next few days. Hopefully the problems will all be resolved by then.

Thank you, "Ben"

Yes, I am using it. But having that kind of page is bad.
I'll PM it to you so you could you check it out.
I don't have admin rights on the Plesk server to look into this for you, so I've forwarded your request to the admin, including the link. Hopefully, he can solve your problem.

I think there is a problem with plesk regarding in creating webuser. When creating webuser it already makes a page directing to, but sadly to say there is no index page existing for the's images.
A webuser account is created and files uploaded to that account are located in a, according to the Plesk manual. Are you using that directory to try and access files?

Do the plesk server has sendmail function?
How to setup two ftp accounts under your freepgs url?
The Plesk server does not have the mail function enabled by default. You can request it through the Help Desk in Plesk.
As to answer your second question,

Is there a way to have multiple FTP logins per domain?

Current Plesk version supports only one FTP user per domain. Also, web users are able to access their home directories via FTP and anonymous FTP access can be configured.

Multiple FTP users support will be added in Plesk 9. This time you can add additional FTP users only manually as described in the 415 article.
So, there is no support with it yet. I don't know if the admin will edit in a second FTP account manually, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

QuoteAn account has been created for you on the Plesk system.

To manage your account, please login via

Each domain will be setup with its own FTP account.  If you wish to have multiple domains pointing to the same content, you can add them as aliases to a single domain.

Please upload your files using "" as the FTP Server Name.  Be sure to upload your files into the "httpdocs" directory.

Once your domains have been created, you will need to update the nameservers at your domain registrar.

The new nameservers are:

If you are pointing your domain to our IP address (via DNS records), you will need to update the DNS record to point to

If you are using a domain name that ends with "", that domain will not point to the Plesk server automatically.  To have these domains pointed, please fill out the contact form, and we can make the necessary DNS changes.  You can also add the domain as if you wish to have a domain that will work immediately.

If you have your own domain and are pointed to our nameservers, you will now have the ability to add/remove your own email accounts in Plesk.  If you are using a third party email server solution, you will have the ability to modify DNS records via the Plesk panel as well.

Thank you, "Admin"

This should be the reply you got via email when the account was created. The instructions on adding a domain have been bolded.
Yes, you will need to change where your domains point to. I don't know the Plesk nameservers or IP is off the top of my head, but I can go and try and look it up for you.

Couldn't find the IP address, but these are the nameservers:
