Hmm I guess you missed all the announcements and posts about this.. there was a recent attack to the server and all index.html and index.php files on your account have been replaced with the 27byte message. Simply re-upload a backup of your index files to restore the website.

I think thats a chmodding problem, not the function problem. Freepgs did not disable fopen, but they did do some changes to the file access rights I think, and it maybe fixed with a simple chmod of the file causing the problem, which won' take 30 seconds to do.

Well theres a pretty simple solution to find out... if its still working, then your fine, right? I mean the functions have already been disabled, so unless you're experiencing some problems, you can assume it doesn't use those functions.

Upload the font to your account, preferably into the same folder as the php/image. There are no pre-hosted fonts that I know of that you can access from the freepgs server. I myself have used fonts in dynamic PHP images... I don't have the code for using a font in the image at the moment but yeah, just upload it by yourself, this way also offers more control since you can use any font you wish.

Consider using "div" containers rather than tables. They allow you ro accuratly position content on a page so it really is WYSIWYG but also WYSIWYW(ant).

In dreamweaver you can drag and drop div containers anywhere on the page to organize your content so it makes life much easier. I must admit, trying to make a site/template with tables would be a real pain.

Remember it could be classified as spam because of the subject or content in the email. I use gmail so I havn't had a problem, and I don't know how Hotmail Determines what is "spam" or not. But I find it hard to believe hotmail would take any email from freepgs and put it into spam automatically.

Well freepgs has PHPBB as the recommended forum to install on their list.

These are the most popular:
PHPBB - PHP Bulletin Board (Not very advanced, lacks some features, for the most part easy to use and free)
IPB - Invision Power Board (Quite advanced, lots of features, requires purchase of a license to use new version)
SMF - Simple Machines Forum (This is the forums you are using right now, so you can decide if you like it or not, free as far as i know)

Installing is easy if you know what you're doing, but if you're new to building sites and installing PHP scripts etc it may be hard for you to understand. Basically you download their forum from their website. Upload onto your site. Open the install page. Follow the installation instructions. It may (will) ask you to "chmod" a directory or file when you're installing. You can use either the Freepgs File Manager or the Freepgs Net2FTP file manager to do this. If not come back here and we'll help you with that. You'll also need to know how to create a mysql database (this is very simple, just a couple of clicks in the admin panel of your freepgs account)

still slow for me.. took me 26 seconds on a 2mbit connection to load my home page which usually takes just a couple of seconds.

I could be wrong but I don't think there is a limit, unless of course you exceed your storage limit.

Ok now the storage bar updated indicating i do have <0.1mb of files which is unfotunrately correct:(

I went on my website this morning no problem, about 45 min later i noticed an image i hosted from my site didn't load so I checked my site to see if freepgs was down and then i saw that www.scorpionsoftware.org only shows a directory with 2 files!!! :O everything gone

for me this is another fire! even worse since I've worked even harder after the fire to have a really good site.. and you guessed it I never took the trouble to backup much.

Please not when I said it says 60something i meant the status bar for my storage usage says about 65mb when there are only two tiny files left in my account that are under a few kb! Before the deletion I had been using 60 soemthing mb.

Please I would like to know exactly what happened, and If I don't get an answer I'm going to have to ask that freepgs carrys out an investigation.

I believe either
1) freepgs itself was hacked and was able to delete my files
2) freepgs has accidently (or maybe purposely) deleted my files

I do not believe someone has my password because of its strength, length, randomness and complexity and even if they did manage to have it, I cannot see why the storage status bar would still say 60mb.

Emergency. Admins please help me immediately, all my files have been deleted today!!!! Everything!!! there are only 2 files left in my account.

And look at this, it wasn't me or someone who logged into the control panel cause my status check still says i have 60something mb i've used yet there are only 2 tiny files and my whole site is gone!

Please help, Please don't tell me that for a second time everything is gone!

[Edit: By the way I just did a whois on my domain and it says its pointing to the correct nameserver (NS1.LVCS.NET & NS2.LVCS.NET) so I'm assuming the problem is on the freepgs end. But the control panel says its setup to receive scorpionsoftware.org as a domain? So i'm assuming some how the fire affected this?]

almost a full day ago. I would have though it would have resolved by now, but it simply comes up with a server not found page from your browser.

I had it on my freepgs account before, so technically the settings should be ok. I don't understand why though its not resolving.

btw I couldn't NS01.BACKUPDNS.COM because my registrar kep putting it as my primary name server when I pressed submit even though i listed it very clearly under third nameserver.
