Support Requests / Re: Mail Function
February 12, 2014, 08:54:15 AM
Is removal of mail a permanent change?

I noticed my settings for unknown messages changed recently (EU) and I am currently unable to send to Hotmail/Outlook addresses. I'm guessing this is related to the recent spammer issues?

Is there any way to request email services again following this change or should I look at moving my mail to a different host?

Never mind, found the other threads.

I just got this email from Plesk;

QuoteFrom:         LVCS Plesk (plesk@lvcs.net)
Sent:    01 December 2008 09:15:46
To:    09429: chrisharrod (chrisharrod@hotmail.co.uk)

The validity period of the client account 'chrisharrod' (Contact Name '09429: chrisharrod') is about to expire.
The client account and all of related domains will be deactivated by Wed Dec 31 2008 unless the validity period is prolonged.

Thank you,

What's this about?

I am using the plesk mail service at the moment :) My registrar's service is pitiful.

What I want is for the DNS's to have the backup :D Currently I don't know if I'm pointing at the registrar's servers or the plesk ones. I'm guessing plesk, since my site died when the plesk DNS's did, but I could still access the FTP via IP. I included the MX settings becuase i didn't know what they were. If they are mail, I will ignore them as the mail.orbital-one.co.uk is heading to Plesk as I want them to.

Basically I want to use;

PLSK1.LVCS.NET
PLSK2.LVCS.NET
NS01.BACKUPDNS.COM

But don't know where and what to change to achieve that.

Support Requests / Domain help
May 04, 2008, 02:40:46 PM
I'm not exactly sure how I'm currently setup for the DNS's. I want to use the nameservers as in the frustrated thread, but currently my registrar settings are as follows;

All entries for name servers are blank,

In manage DNS settings;
@ A 68.178.194.153
www A 68.178.194.153
www.orbital-one.co.uk CNAME orbital-one.co.uk

MX records;
mx0.123-reg.co.uk. pri. 10
mx1.123-reg.co.uk. pri. 20

In plesk, the settings are as follows;

I have no idea what any of these settings should be. It works currently (bodgey bodgey) but i want to add the backup DNS...

Hopefully they'll be alive again soon.

I'm guessing the DNS servers have died again, my orbital-one.co.uk is dead too. I can login to the FTP by using the DNS IP and my login details, but not via any URL.

Support Requests / ASP Server
April 13, 2006, 12:32:28 AM
A While ago there was mention of a poossible seperate Windows box running ASP for people who needed it (at an extra cost). I was wondering if there was any more news on this? A part of my uni work is to make an ASP.NET website, and since i'm remaking my own site it would be nice if i could simply swap over and use that as my main one.

A bit of a bump but better than making a new topic, has there been anything further on this? I'm redisigning my site to run on ASP for a bit of uni work but would like to use it in that form anyway. Do you have a Win server yet, or any way to run ASP code on a Linux base?

Their new server will be arriving in about a week, and should be at the datacenter 1-2 weeks after that. Give it a month, maybe a little more and they will probably start reinstating non-domain accounts.

Yes. It will take a little while though until the new server that they've ordered has arrived and been set up. Give it a few weeks/months and it should be business as usual :D But it'll be even better :)
