Remember that the username/password for the database are independent from the ones you use to login to your account. You also need to create a database before trying to use it.

You can see a list of the databases you created here and, if you had not already done so, you can create a new one here.

If you can't delete them, maybe you changed the permissions of the files (chmod) to a value that denies you access. In the online file manager, such files will have a value under 600 in the "perm" column. You can try to change the permissions again by clicking on that number. Once you have fixed this, you should be able to delete the files.

If it still doesn't work, you can ask the help of the admin through the contact form.

My answer to a similar question asked yesterday. It might help you.

As far as I know, you can use the standard FreePgs support system (available when you login at system.freepgs.com) to request help for both servers.

The server runs Apache 2.0.54 with PHP 5.0.4 and MySQL 4.1.20.

You can always find the latest web server information using the phpinfo(); function (example of the output). The database server info is available through phpMyAdmin.

There are limits set for the use of resources by scripts, at least in PHP (and other languages are not available). A script alone could not slow down the server that much. Instead, I think that there are a few "exceedingly" popular websites hosted here that get so much hits that it brings the server to its knees. My theory is based on the fact that FTP access never slows down (at least for me), even when the websites show slowly.

Support Requests / Re: Backup my database but how
June 14, 2006, 05:03:44 PM
You can do that using the Export tool in phpMyAdmin.

You can simply select the databases to backup and check the "save as file" box near the bottom before submitting the form.

Zend Optimizer is installed, but you could have verified that on your own by doing a phpinfo() (example)

This will cause problems with scrolling if the window is too small.

QuoteI don't know how to set the Email to point to Gmail. Does anyone know how (I'm using GoDaddy)?

If you are using the Plesk nameservers, I believe that you can do it yourself by setting up a catch-all mail forwarder in Plesk.

If you are using the lvcs.net nameservers, you will need to use the contact form to ask the admin to set up the catch-all for you.

If you are using the A records, the changes should be made using the tools provided by GoDaddy.

If your domain is on Plesk (ie. if you use plesk.lvcs.net:8443 to manage your account), then you need to use plsk1.lvcs.net and plsk2.lvcs.net as your nameservers.

If your domain is on the main server (ie. if you use system.freepgs.com to manage your account and ftp.freepgs.com for FTP access), then you need to use the lvcs.net nameservers.

Quotethe table is missing from the database

how do i repair the table ?

You can't repair a missing table. You need to restore it from a backup, if you have any.

It might be a bug in your FTP client, from what I can see.

Could you try another client, like FileZilla (download), and see if it works?

FTP works for me right now. If you are behind a firewall or on a network, make sure you enabled "Passive mode" (also called PASV) in your FTP client.

500 server errors are often caused by invalid .htaccess files.

Edit: Two mistakes. Wow. I must really be tired.

Quotei was trying to chmod userglobal.php before, but seems to be working on the wrong file.

You need to chmod the files that get changed, not the scripts that make the changes. It is a little difference that often causes trouble.

chmod the file /bbs/data/bbscache/online.php to 664 instead of 644. You can do that using the online file manager.
