Have been having some issues recently but was thinking this was my ISP. I don't suppose you're with Orange X?

I've heard some people have had trouble accessing ITunes recently too.

Never used it before. Did you read the Readme? Perhaps try reuploading index.php? Maybe you need to install it first before you can view index.php? Is there an install.php file or install directory?

I think i've come accross the problem.. i think it's because the page i was using (secrets.php) had the same name as the folder. Is there some kind of overriding HTACCESS preventing it from working? In any case it's okay now i just renamed the secrets.php page.

Edit:

Hmm, odd. It wasn't that after all. I'm not sure whats going on but it doesn't like using "secret" as a "false directory" (If that makes sense) but "secrets" is fine. It's annoying because i really wanted secret... i guess i'll keep playing.

Edit2:

Oh yes it was - Wahey! Fixed it.

Support Requests / Mod_Rewrite
July 14, 2006, 09:57:58 PM
Hey Guys, I'm having a little trouble with Mod_Rewrite.. hoping someone can help.

The current code in my .htaccess file:
QuoteRewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^secret/(.*) secret.php?id=$1

Basically, i want domain.com/secret/$number to act as domain/secret.php?id=$number -- I can't see what i've done wrong, i've used similar code elsewhere and it worked fine? Any help much appreciated.

I even stuck a [R] on the end of the rule to try and get it to redirect but that didn't work either.

I'm having similar problems on Plesk. Users aren't recieving activation emails. It says the mail function has been disabled for security reasons?

Do you mean Plesk-Stat? (Or something like that).

I've used it before but that was before the upgrade to Plesk 8. If i recall correctly they weren't very detailed and you may be better off with another program depending on what you want exactly.

I'll take a look later today on my control panel and see if i can figure out how i used it before / if it's avilable.

You could use an outside traffic tracking program for example Google Analytics to name a specific service or one of my favourites is a program called PPHLogger.

Support Requests / PLESK - Future reference..
June 23, 2006, 08:48:16 PM
Just for the future, if i need to contact FreePgs regarding the Plesk server, obviously Plesk doesn't have a contact / support system, how should i do this?

Check out the main site at http://www.freepgs.com (Unless you had already visited?) - Click plans along the top, select a plan you want and you're away.

Hope that helps,

Maybe it just takes a little to update like when reconfiguring domains, aside from that i'm afraid i've got no other ideas :(

webmail.domain.tld works for me. Did you enable control panel access when you setup the mail account? Perhaps thats the setting?

You could make the backup pages inaccessible in protected directorys or zipped files, or maybe robots.txt could help prevent them being indexed? The duplicate content thing is great, it prevents people from putting the same content everywhere. People who get articles from free sites for example, it tends to show a site thrown together quickly and therefore has lesser value. If i did a search for something and the top 20 results contained links to the same article on 20 different domains i wouldn't be too impressed.

It's easier to get higher ranks in MSN i find, thats a result of googles complex system for PRs though i would expect.

You could also consider linking a domain to your account?

Besides, It's only $3 hosting.
