I also got "The period of validity has expired." email, but I can still log in to plesk. I guess this is an error that we received this email.
If you log in to plesk click the Home link and then in Tools click Report, scroll down and you should see the new expiration date which for me is Jan 31, 2010 if you payed your annual fee.
