Support Requests / 500 Internal Server Error

I have opted to move back to the Freepgs server and not stay with plesk.  Because I can't access plesk from my school, and they will not open the port for me so I can.

Anyway, my problem is I've uploaded my files to the Freepgs server, and when I try to run the php files.  I keep getting a "500 Internal Server Error."

Is anyone able to shed some light on this?  Should I just wait a while and try again or is everything not up and running all the way?

Some of my files and directories have changed to the apache user and group.  And yes this is under my httpdocs directory, where I should have control over the files and directories.

The problem is with files and directories under httpdocs/portal/.  I want what is in there deleted, but I can't.  If the admin could please help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
