An account's script or mail account was used to send hundreds of thousands of messages to random hotmail addresses.

If you use your own scripts such as contact forms, be sure they cannot be exploited.
If you use ANY script on your website, you MUST keep it up to date. If you are no longer using a portion of your site that contains scripts, do not leave them as they will become exploited.
