Title: Server Migration
Post by: admin on April 18, 2010, 02:06:17 PM
We will be migrating all users from Plesk3 and Plesk4 to a new server (Plesk6) within the next 7 days.

IP addressing will change, but we will point all existing nameservers to the new server when the new IP addresses are assigned.

All accounts that lapsed will be removed from the servers so that only current accounts will be migrated.

Plesk3 migration has started.  Hopefully we can get the sites migrated in a reasonable time.

If you are pointed to our nameservers, no changes will be necessary.

If you are pointed to our IP address, you will need to change the DNS records to point to 174.142.39.185

We will be migrating both Plesk3 and Plesk4 clients to this new server.  The new server is located in a datacenter that better serves most of our clients, has more memory, and updated OS, as well as better reliability.

We pushed the NS glued records updates this evening for users that were on Plesk3.  Everyone's site from Plesk3 should be on Plesk6 within the next 24 hours.

In doing so, we noticed some users that were hardcoding the IP address instead of "localhost" for local database connections.  Always use "localhost" to avoid these types of problems.

An email was dispatched to all users from the new server.

We will be shutting down the Plesk3 server by the end of the month.

If you have problems with your site since it was migrated, please be sure to request the site to be retransferred from the old Plesk3 server before we take the Plesk3 server offline, otherwise you may not be able to recover your site.

We may start migrating Plesk4 users in the near future.
