Annual Dues are $6 per account.
(Even if you have multiple subscriptions/domains in the case of Plesk5 or Plesk7 and receive multiple email messages, you are only required to pay for each Plesk account and not each domain)

The pricing this year is able to remain at $6 per account per year.
Next year, however, renewals may have to be increased after a cost-analysis is done.

Payments are submitted using http://system.freepgs.com/paynow.php
Select the correct server and enter your Plesk username on that server when using the PayPal option.
If you are not using the PayPal option, be sure to send us a message with your details in case we are not able to match your payment up.

Also, any user can request migration to the new Plesk7 server.  This server should provide enhanced performance for anyone in the West Coast US region, especially if you are currently using Plesk5 or Plesk6 (due to distance) or Plesk4 (due to server hardware).

For customers on the East Coast US or Europe, the best servers continue to be Plesk5 and Plesk6, however, we should be replacing these machines at some point in the future.

Plesk7 runs the newest versions of PHP, MySQL, and Plesk panels.

If you are not sure which server you are closest to, you can ping each machine and see which server has the lowest response time.  This will vary from customer to customer due to your location and the ISP you use to connect to the internet.

There are a few customers on the "west1.lvcs.net" VPS server that was setup for test purposes.  We will need to re-evaluate keeping that machine online due to the lack of response.

We have another server that is better suited to west-coast US users, and should provide better response times for customers in other regions as well.

If you are having performance problems with your site, you may request migration to the new server.

The new server runs Plesk 11.x, PHP 5.3.x, MySQL 5.5.x

If you are located in the eastern US or Europe, this server will probably not give you the response times you are after, but because of the faster hardware, may work better for your needs.

We are accepting a limited number of migrations.  If everything continues to run smoothly, we will eventually migrate all users on the aging Plesk4 server over to the new Plesk7.

A few of our customers have SSL sites on the Plesk shared hosting servers.  Only Plesk 10.2 or higher allows SSL certificates to be used on a shared IP.  (This also requires newer browsers and non-XP client operating systems to view).

In the past, we have allowed SSL sites for our customers when requested with no additional fees.  To keep costs low, we will now require customers that requested dedicated/exclusive IPs to pay $12 per year per additional IP address assigned to them.  That way, the customers that are using the dedicated/exclusive IP resources are the ones paying for them.

If you do not have any SSL (secure) sites on your account, there will be no additional charges.  This only applies to those that have additional IP addresses listed on their account.

Service interruptions could occur to any sites that you are hosting with us and to your server environment. Please expect up to 45 minutes of downtime.

Effective 1 December 2011, the annual fee for freepgs accounts will be increased from $3 to $6.

Payments processed before this date will be $3, and payments after this date will be $6 per year.

You can pay for multiple years at the lower rate.  if you are on a recurring payment plan the rate increase will be automatic.  To get more time at the lower rate, you can request us to remove the recurring billing from your account and manually pay a year or more before 1 December.

We will be performing Plesk5 panel updates.  We will be upgrading to Plesk 10.3.x to see if it resolves any of the issues with the current 10.1.1 build (namely applications that will not install because the reported PHP version is incorrect).

This may cause some downtime while the panel updates.

Support Requests / Plesk4 Server Replacement Options

We are considering replacing the aging Plesk4 server.

Please post to this topic if you would like to see cPanel over Plesk (or something like DirectAdmin).

We will not be housing another server at the current center where Plesk4 is located since the performance is so poor at times from certain regions.

Also, if you are located in the East to Central US, Canada, or anywhere in Europe, you can request to have your account migrated to Plesk5 or Plesk6 for improved performance.  For users in Asia, the Plesk4 server was typically the fastest, so we are looking to house a server on the West Coast USA to offer similar performance.

For users looking to find a closer server, please ping the following hostnames and tell us which times are lowest.

We will be increasing our annual fee for account renewal starting next year to cover more of the costs to provide this hosting.

Currently, less than 1/6 of the cost of providing this service is being obtained from the annual fees.

The fees were kept low since the service was originally a free provider.  We wanted to keep a cheap option available to users, but we are no longer to continue paying for this service as we are now.

It is possible we could also have different annual fees based on the number of active domains, or based on traffic (at levels), or some other factor, that way those that hardly use their account will not be paying as much as others that have a large number of domains or high traffic sites running.

Please respond with any ideas and/or to express your feelings about this matter.

We are looking at possibly increasing the annual renewal fee starting next year.

$3 has never really covered the hosting of these sites, but we have provided it as a service.

As stated before, we will be looking into consolidating servers to help keep the price point as low as possible.

The maximum we plan to increase the plan to would be $10 per year.  In fact, I am hoping it to be around $6 per year (double the current rate).

Support Requests / Plesk5 Cleanup

We have been monitoring a few user databases on the Plesk5 server due to horrible performance lately.

We have found around 10 abandoned sites running forums or CMS scripts that were just being used by spammers to post links.

These folders have been renamed.  Eventually, the database will be removed to speed up the statistics run.

One such database was 1.4GB in size.

Legitimate users should notice improved performance on the Plesk5 server.  Additional cleanup may be performed.

We will most likely do the same cleanup on Plesk4 and Plesk6 to speed performance as there are most likely some abandoned sites being used by spammers there as well.

We may be updating to PHP 5.3 on the Plesk 6 server in the near future.

This could break some users scripts (especially older versions that probably shouldn't be used anyway).

The Plesk4 server is currently non-functional.  We are awaiting the actual status from the company that provides service to this particular server and will post here when more information is available.

If you have backups of your sites, we can create your account on another server.

If you do not have backups, you will need to wait until we find out more information about the problem until your site is restored to operation.

The Plesk5 server has been updated to Plesk 10.1

Please report any problems using the "Help Desk" link (if there is still such a thing).  There are some additional changes to make in order to migrate the accounts over to the new methods.

Please vote so we know if we should still run this service beyond the next year.

Depending on the number of accounts that do not renew, we will most likely need to eliminate at least one of the servers.  The fees paid do not even cover a single month of hosting these boxes anymore.

Support Requests / West Coast US Test Server Launched

We now have a VPS located in Los Angeles, CA.  (This is less transit time for Asia-Pacific customers, but will be worse for users on the East Coast US or Europe regions compared to Plesk5 or Plesk6 systems).

If anyone would like a test account, please use the "Help Desk" link within Plesk to request an account.  The new system runs DirectAdmin (a different control panel).  Your site will not be migrated with the request, we will only create an account.  This is for testing purposes only, there will be no charge for this additional account.

DirectAdmin login URL is http://west1.lvcs.net:2222/

A test forum has been installed at http://testwest.lvcs.net/ so you can test the speed from your location.

Support Requests / Plesk3 Shutdown

The Plesk3 server will be shut down by the end of the week.

If you are having trouble with your site since it was migrated to Plesk6 (i.e. the database did not transfer properly), you must let us know by the morning of 28 May 2010 (Friday).  On Friday afternoon, the server will be taken down.  No information will be available from the server after this time.
